Capital One Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Oregon
I have been forced to pay an annual fee of $59.00 to Capital One for a credit card that I can not use due to its " restricted '' status, for two years in a row. Capital One refuses to close my account because they say they can not verify my identity, even though I sent them, via email, all the official ID docs they asked for ( social security card, proof of address, drivers license ). They said they think I " altered '' my own ID documents. Therefore, I 'm trapped in this cycle of trying to cancel my account, they refuse, they charge an annual fee for a product I ca n't even use.
