Ally Bank Checking Account : I recently deposited a check in my checking account on - -, 2016 electronically via my mobile device which was approved the following day. The funds show in my account under " current balance '' but are not available to me. I called the bank as I noticed my account was overdrafted by $86.00 yet I just deposited a $25000.00 check. The bank stated that the funds would not be available to me until the next 5 days as my account was flagged for frequent overdraft charges during the last 6months. However, instead of admitting this was an unfair practice, the bank instead is charging me additional overdraft fees during this period. Essentially they are blocking me from having funds available that would prevent these exact overdraft fees from being charged. This is pretty obvious to me they are exploiting a common practice in the industry which other banks were just fined for and this bank simply has just gotten away with it.
