Citibank Credit card department,
Forbearance / Workout plans Arizona
i had a credit card issued from Citibank and was a cardmember for more than 25 years with good credit and payment history. Around early - I had trouble making my payments and tried to work with them. On - -, -, Citibank put me into a program that had me make smaller payments and sent me an agreement that said if I made all of the payments they will re-open my account in 12 months. Right around the - month, I made my regular payment and expected to have the account re-opened. Citibank then said that in order to do that, I would need to make a regular payment for the balance that would be around $600.00. I told them that they never told me that when I agreed to the agreement they sent me on - -, -. They told me that " The system, that makes all of these decisions is the one who decided that, in order to re-open my account, I would need to pay that amount. I did pay, even though it was very difficult and then about two weeks later in early - -, they told me that they were not opening my
collections, during a call to - of their collection agents, I let them know I could afford a $200.00 payment and they laughed and said " why bother ''. My Debt has been sold to many debt collectors, and the latest sent me today a so called validation of my debt which also included someone else 's debt information which I believe is illegal. I think Citibank has violated the terms of the agreement it entered with me. I believe that they misled me in this program that was going to help me defer payments due to financial hardship. I do know that last year around this time you were successful in getting them to correct this predatory and deceptive marketing.
