Closing/Cancelling account Texas

I was notified in an email of a fraud alert on my credit card and was asked to provide some documents to verify my identity. I provided such documents and after 6 weeks noticed that my account was in the same status. I called to determine the nature of the problem and customer service personnel informed me that they needed further proof of my identity. No one had called me or emailed me during this time to say that additional information was needed.
