During an Amazon transaction in - I applied for a an Amazon card which was stated it would be processed for approval immediately and provide a discount on the current purchase. In spite of an excellent credit rating, it was stated my credit was questionable and the application would not be immediately processed. This is clearly a bait and switch to get applications. Several weeks later, I received a card ( -/-/16 ) with a credit line far exceeding that requested. Further terms arriving with the card state ALL of my information could be shared by Chase after my card was open for 30 days, that I could NOT opt out, and that this would continue to apply even AFTER the card was closed. I immediately called to cancel before the 30 days was up, as they left me less than a week to review and respond. The representative tried to - me into talking to a reprentative to " address my concerns '' and manually opt me out " if really an issue '', which contradicts the written terms stating no verbal greement is binding. This entire process is clearly designed to deny applicants information and to narrow the response window to reject the terms for the sole purpose of seizing control of customer information, even if the applicant *doesn't* take the final step of making the call to activate the card. From what I see in the paperwork, which was largely confirmed by the representative, you can halt the siezure of your information *only* by cancelling prior to the 30 day window you are n't informed of for 23 days. This is abusive and unacceptable.
