U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
I have held a credit card with US Bank since approximately 2004. When I opened the account, it was a - - rewards card. When - - became - -, my card became a " - '' card. This card has an annual fee of $45.00. I want to convert the card into some US Bank card that does not have an annual fee. US Bank phone customer first told me I would have to go into a branch- the closest is 1.5 hours from where I live. I called the branch, they looked into it and told me there is no way to convert this card to something without an annual fee. I have to either pay the fee every year for benefits that I do n't use- or close the account. I do not want to close the account because it having been open and in good standing for 12 years reflects well on my credit history. I feel like my credit score being held hostage by US Bank, either pay or suffer! I have assured them that if I close the account, I will not be opening a new - with their bank, but would like to work together to remain their customer. Their only answer is that I can spend at least $ - to earn enough rewards to redeem them for the annual fee, but this is also them forcing me to adhere to their terms. All I want is a US Bank credit card on the same line of credit with no annual fee.
