American Express is emphasizing a " pay by '' date which is 3 weeks after the statement date. They do list a " closing date '' as well, which is at the required 30 day interval but do not explain what it means. This is misleading and appears to be designed to circumvent the intent of the law. I would ask that this be addressed by the CFPB. - examples ( from different mailings ) are attached to this submission.
