U.S. Bancorp Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle lease Taking out the loan or lease Maine
US Bank is charging a fee to lessees, in the amount of $1500.00, if the consumer elects to exercise their purchase option through a dealer, not directly through US Bank, at the end of their lease. This fee is not disclosed on the Lease contract. The contract does disclose a purchase option fee of $350.00 which is calculated into the purchase option price. US Bank was a primary lease provider for - for approximately 4 years which exposes many consumers to this extra, hidden fee. I have attached a scan of a contract which does not disclose either the fee or the fact that the consumer can not exercise their purchase option at a local dealer. Circled are the sections related to the end of term purchase. I have contacted the State of Maine Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection who directed me to contact CFPB since US Bank is a federally regulated bank. I hope you can help the many consumers who are currently nearing the end of term on their current US Bank leases.
