JPMorgan Chase & Co. Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Problems when you are unable to pay Iowa
Vehicle financed through Chase - was repossessed with no prior notice. Loan was only 68 days past due with a payment in the mail and received by them the day after it was repossessed. In - - I believed I had made payment change arrangements from - of every month to the - of every month. Apparently it was not accepted and I was never notified. - - - - - I made my monthly payment via my online bank by the - and I confirmed they received by - every month. This apparently put me in collections for - straight mos, missing my due date by 20+ days. No calls were ever made to me and no attempt to look at my history and contact me to either get my date change or request earlier payment was made. I had an online account with them and never received an email or online message. To make matters worse, I did miss my - - payment due to an oversight on my part. Again, - - - payments were made the -. On - - the car was repossessed. No letter, call or notice received to make arrangements or advise of
bring the loan current ( approx $ - ) and recover my vehicle. I was eventually asked " how will I be keeping the loan current '' and I had already advised of the oversight on my part and that it was not due to lack of ability to pay. Frustrated I advised " I do n't know how to answer your question '' and that " I will be more careful and pay on time as I never imagined repo was possible ''. I was placed on hold and it was obvious the collector did not like my answer when she came back as she advised that at this time they were going to accelerate the loan balance and require me to payoff the loan in full ( approx. $ - ). A couple calls back and even an escalation request got me nowhere as I was advised the decision was final. I believe this action was taken to an extreme with no evidence of inability to pay. My reason is complete oversight on my part and I in no way deflected responsibility. I never advised I was without work or any other hardship that would indicate the delinquency would persist. I never received any notice to cure or legally required notice. There is no doubt I broke the terms of the contract but I believe Chase took overly aggressive and unjustified action in the interest of taking advantage of the situation. Their predatory action has resulted in additional financial burden and credit reporting damage that I will live with for years to come.
