I called Navient on -/-/2016 to put my private student signature loans on forbearance because of unemployment and was told to call on -/-/2016 - five days after the due date for the student - loans. I called today ( -/-/2016 ) and the woman who first helped me put me on hold and the call was dropped after 5 minutes. I call back and got a man who said my loans were up-to-date and I did n't need to request a forbearance until the -. I told him that I wanted to do it because it 's pass the due date and I see payments were coming due. Then all of a sudden, the call disconnected.
