U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
APR or interest rate Pennsylvania
Currently, I have a VISA credit card with - based here in PA. Today, I called to check on my APR. I was shocked, saddened and angered to realize that my APR went from 12.99 % up to over - percent. After speaking to a senior customer service rep, I was troubled by this unfortunate experience. In a nutshell, I called back in -/-/2015 to seek a lower APR. The issuer ( - ) put me on a six month promotional rate due to my good credit rating and long standing history with Fulton Bank. Today, I found out that my rate shot up to 18 percent as the promotional rate changed. Here is my issue - the issuer never provided me notice of the promotional term changing. As a result, I had no real-time info other than looking at my statement to realize something changed on the APR. This is absolutely unacceptable and totally over the edge for credit card companies to get away with. I would like a full investigation launched into this practice. Additionally, I would like to see regulations adopted that require credit card companies to provide 30-60-90 notices on these promotional rate changes. I can only imagine how many consumers are being impacted by this practice. My conversation today was alarming as the service rep basically said it 's your responsibility to read your bill - end of story. I agree with that but why NOT require a back-end notification on the promotional rate changes.
