Credit card Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Illinois

Midland Funding is lowering my credit report and creating problems for me by reporting a Collection account on my credit report. This debt is NOT mine and yet they continue to ignore my requests to remove the derogatory remark. I ca n't understand how they can ruin someone 's life without providing any proof a debt is owed. If the CFPB ca n't help with situations like this I question why it even exists? The credit reporting agencies dispute procedure is useless in these situations and need to be changed.
