U.S. Bancorp Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Shopping for a loan or lease Illinois
- - I was talked into applying for a used car loan. -, The assistant branch manager and - - -, the branch manager guaranteed me that this would only be a soft hit to my credit. They told me they would do a soft hit, come back with an offer, then if I accepted that offer they would do the hard hit. I 'm trying to get my credit and everything in line to buy a house, so I did n't want my credit touched. I 've never heard of it being done this way but the - girls swore up and down it will not affect my credit so I gave them my information. In the next day or two I seen they put a hard hit on my credit. I spoke to - - who said the policy must have changed and she can have it taken off. I filled out the form to get the hard hit taken
- - I seen the hit was still on my credit. - - has me fill out the same form again and said she 'll call me Friday, which did n't happen. I called her the following week and was told she 'll call me tomorrow, which did n't happen. The next week I called her again and was told I have to wait 30 days ( from the day I filled out the - form ) for something to come in the mail. - days later I never received anything. I spoke with - - who is the distract managers assistant. - spoke with - - who said I was given the wrong form to be filled out. In order to take this hit off my credit I need to mail them a statement of what happened, my social security number, and a copy of each of my credit reports that show the hit. -I 've spoken to a manager of US Banks customer service and - branch managers at other local locations, they all told me that they have never done soft hits and do n't know why I would have been told this. So I was lied to. How many people do they say this to but do n't check their credit so never know? -It 's been - months and I 've had to basically chase this branch manager down to get answers. -US Bank already has all my info, but now I have to mail them the same info and more.
