For years and years payments were made to Sallie Mae for my student loans. The Balance did NOTHING! At one point I decided I needed to go on an interest based repayment for over $600.00 a month. During this time my loan collected nearly $5000.00 dollar in interest! My payments were $1100.00 a month. I would make a payment and then on my next billing cycle the balance on the principle would be $1000.00 higher then the month before after making a payment of over $1100.00. When I would call I would spend hours on the phone with hours of that on hold and receive no answers for any of my questions or where this extra money on my balance had come from. On 6 different occasions I was told " this will have to be looked up manually. We will call you back! '' I have NEVER received a phone call from Sallie Mae unless to collect my money!!! At one point I asked to speak to a manager who also put me on hold and when he could not answer my questions he became agitated and hang up on me!!!!! OUTRAGEOUS! I am at a loss with this ignorance. There is no office to go to ... no extensions to speak with the same person twice. It is madness and Sallie Mae is corrupt and taking advantage of an entire generation of people!
