Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Ohio
Tuesday - - 2016, I noticed that my Chase checking overdraft protection deposited $1800.00 into my checking account to cover an overdraft. However, there was no overdraft that occurred from my records or from Chase. The amount showed as 'Pending. ' I contacted chase at - EDT on Tuesday -/-/2016 to ask why this happened, but the ( male ) Chase representative could not explain why. He stated that I should repay the $1800.00 back to the credit card ( Chase - ) and everything should be fine. He stated that I need to do this before the end of the day ( Tuesday ). As instructed, I made the payment from my checking ( account - ) to my Chase credit card that night for the amount of $1800.00. Wednesday morning ( -/-/2016 ) my account showed an new overdraft because of the payment I made to the credit card. However, the funds ( $1800.00 ) that were originally showing as 'pending ' were no longer in my account and a new credit card over draft amount was transferred for ~ $1500.00 ( to cover the NEW overdraft ... according to Chase ). My checking account now has a
card payment to post and then have it reversed which will then take an additional 3-5 business days after I call back, yet again to explain the situation to yet another Chase rep. This is a complete breakdown of communication on Chase 's part and lack of ownership for what one incompetent Chase employee told me to do. My family and I have been trying to stretch the mere $300.00 in my checking until next pay day. I keep getting the same answer from Chase : " I 'm sorry, but there 's nothing we can do. '' I mentioned to them that my phone call was recorded with the original rep and that they should take ownership for their mistake. I had one employee ( - - ) tell me that I should start using a paper register to keep track of my records ( i.e. placing blame on me for the issue ). So far, I have not heard anything back from anyone within Chase and I 've wasted hours today on the phone re-explaining the problem, but ultimately, it has gone no where. I want my cash back in my account and I want them to rectify this properly. I will also be looking into what can be done from a legal point of view. I need help.
