JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Alabama
I responded to a mail solicitation from Chase offering a balance transfer with a zero per cent interest rate. I applied and they issued a credit in my name within seconds. The problem is, they offered to transfer only part of my balance. I called immediately and told customer service that I did not want their offer and not to issue a card or open an account in my name. Within a couple of days I received in the mail a credit card. I also received a notice telling me that the account was closed. When I called customer service again I was told that I have a credit line of $4000.00. I did not want to transfer a balance from one card to another unless the transfer eliminated the original account. Now, they tell me that all this will be reflected on my credit report. It seems to me that this was a fraudulent offer designed to simply open a credit card account.
