I have several credit cards through J P Morgan Chase. I have had to carry a balance on these cards because of emergencies and various other expenses. I have a perfect payment record for over ten years! I recently called this bank to ask for a lower interest rate ( now at - % ) and this terrible institution refused after a half hour on the phone. Is this agency doing anything about this legalized loan sharking? Why are these criminal interest rates allowed to stand? Credit card reform is almost meaningless without attacking these high rates. Again, I have a perfect payment record for over a decade- no late fees, no missed payments. Please advise. Thank you
