Closing/Cancelling account

Barclays PLC Credit card department,

Tried to cancel my recently issued - card ( ownership changed from - to Barclay ) after - phone call attempts to cancel with hold time totally & gt ; 40 minutes, the company told me they were not able to cancel at this time.
