Hello CFPB, I have been dealing with the incompetence of Freedom Mortgage and - Mortgage since - 2015 as outlined in the attached RESPA letter. They really messed up the transfer of servicing. To keep the story as short as possible, everything requested in my RESPA letter has been resolved E-CEPT : Freedom Mortgage 's answer to thousands of dollars in payments I made in - 2015, before the transfer of servicing, was to reverse the payments and send them to - who reposted them as of the date they received them ( - -, - -. Now I 'm not an accountant, but it seems that it 's illegal to reverse payments and have them posted months later without proper credit for the interest. As you can see by my RESPA letter, I 've spent a LOT of time trying to correct their mistakes. I would n't mind being compensated for that. I figure at least - hours - - $400.00. It 's a lot cheaper than if they 'd had to pay my lawyer and court costs.
