I have a checking account with Chase in - - located at - - -. In the past week I was alarmed this morning that I had insufficient charges on my account from two days ago. I called Chase immediately and was told that the - charges of insufficient charges totally $170.00 were charged via debit card transactions. I set up my account to not go through when there are no available funds, however Chase allowed multiple charges to go through instead of declining the debit transactions. I verified that these charges made were strictly debit point of sale in person charges and not reoccurring or check charges which are exempt. I asked for a reversal due to this glitch and my request was denied to have all - charges reversed. The - representative did reverse - which were her capacity and limit and she referred me on to a manager to assist with the other - charges, but the - supervisors I spoke to were unable to do so. In the process of making the request the first supervisor was rather rude. However, I feel this is an excessive amount of charges to charge a customer. It appears as if they are trying to deliberately make money with the insufficient charges, but why on earth are they charging me for money not in my account - this is highway robbery!
