Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Ohio

Chase bank charges $12.00 service fees for going under a $1500.00 minimum ( the lowest they have ). When I got the account from my father 's estate, it had a $20000.00 minimum. When the account dipped below that, they charged the fee for over a year. I never saw any notification of it. Now I had to use the rest of the money. There 's no way I can reach the minimum or get a deposit of $500.00, given that I 'm on - and do n't get the money myself. This whole service fee is questionable and even worse towards low income folk. The lady at the bank said that $1500.00 was the lowest minimum and that they had to charge this fee for " holding the money. '' I 've got $30.00 in my account now. There 's not even anything for them to hold, and if there is no money coming or going, there 's not even any service for them to render besides keeping that record, that excuse for them to charge fees. So I 'm going to have to close the account. There 's nothing else I can do. I neither want nor can afford to give them money for free, and quite frankly they do n't need these little scams that they quietly increase over time. Fees for using ATMs, fees for maintaining an account. I see - now it 's not enough for them to consider it valuable, but even before these practices are unethical and anti-consumer.
