I have had an auto loan with M & T since -/-/2014. The payment date is no later than the - of each month. If the payment is made after that time then my loan would be assessed a late fee. I have made every payment for this loan prior to that date. The loan is issued to myself and another individual however I am the person who makes payment on the loan. Last month I made a cash payment to a teller in - New York. At that time I had a issue in which the teller harassed me. I asked to speak w a manager and the conversation ended with her expressing to me that M & T would contact the people listed on the loan every day until necessary information was updated. I made a call to M & T customer service and filed a complaint. I explained that the representative at the branch made a verbal threat. They advised they would file the complaint and forward it to the proper party. Neither of us who are listed on the loan have ever been contacted about lack of payment or late payment until today. the warranted time frame given. They also told him that they had no information to contact me as their computers do not allow them access to the same information as customer service. I called M & T to find out the issue. I expressed to them my concern as to why the call was made to the other individual on the account as the company was making it out to seem as though the loan was in a delinquent status. I also questioned as to why if all my prior payments made have all fallen within approximately the same timeframe was a call made to him for this month. My concern essentially was that M & T was using this as a way to harass me due to the complaint I made last month on the -. If my payment in - was made on the - and Prior to that on - - why all of a sudden M & T feel the need to make this " collection '' call. M & T has never reached out to either one of us prior to this point. My payments have never been made late but in retaliation to my complaint I feel as though M & T made this call to the other person on the loan in attempt to humiliate me. They tried to make it appear as though I was not " paying my bills '' or holding up my end of the agreement which could not be farther from the truth.
