Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Credit line increase/decrease South Carolina
After logging in online on -/-/2016 and previous being logged in online through my account on -/-/2016 I noticed that Amazon Credit Card ( Synchrony Bank ) had lowered my credit limit from $600.00 to $100.00. Which is very funny seeing that I just had their card security make a payment to pay the prior balance of over $700.00 as a debt cancellation just two days before and that posted on -/-/-. Well on -/-/- even though the statement generated on -/-/- shows available of $100.00, it still showed I had an available credit limit of $600.00 and - balance on my account. Well when I woke up on Sunday to make a purchase I noticed I only had a $100.00 limit I immediately called them and spoke to a manager who informed me the reason that my account limit was lowered was because of the claim being filed and the account being paid off by card security. I asked her again how is that fair that something that is there to protect someone 's credit causes them to have negative effects on the credit when they use it. She then changed her story stating that the limit was lowered
my credit prior to -/-/- because I had tried to get a credit increase and it was denied because of credit at that time, so that theory of randomly being selected should be knocked off the list of why my account was lowered. This is the company 's attempt to fault customers when they use the card protection on the accounts they have with Synchrony Bank and they are using excuses of random credit report checks, or your pay history ( which before the event happened was paid every month ) to justify lowering a customers credit after they use the account security and something should be done about this because if you research it online there are - 's of other customers this has happened to after using card security and they continue to get away with this.
