Yesterday I visited - to view a statement for my loans and make a payment. While on the site I learned that my loan had been sent to a collection agency for payment. Today, I attempted to contact this agency at - but placed on hold and offered the opportunity to receive a call back. At -, I received a call back from an employee by the name of - . I gave him my name and explained my situation. He mentioned that it was no longer in his system and unfortunately sent to collections. He offered to provide me with the company 's name and number. I informed him that I wanted to speak with another customer service rep ( likely his manager/supervisor ) who could explain to me why my loan was sent to collections without any previous notice or communication. He was persistent in mentioning that " Unfortunately it is out of my hands ... I can provide you the credit agency 's phone number ''. I went through several minutes of asking to speak with someone else, asking for clarity, asking who he reports to, and severe frustration while only receiving the same response. We reached a point where he mentioned he would only offer the number one final time before disconnecting. I actually chose to disconnect from him. I attempted to call the number back 2 additional times at which point he answered again. I asked him again if he was joking and if there was anyone else working to which he replied no given the hours of the day. I am intensely frustrated with my loan being sent without notification or additional communication. I am frustrated by a customer service rep who would not provide any additional point person I could ask for clarity on. I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service.
