In 2009 we had lost our business and were with out jobs we had - large cc bill with chase bank at that time they would settle for short money but we did not have any money for over 2 yrs we have pd the $480.00 a month we recently called to see if we could settle and finally get this behind us we were told that the only settlement we could get would put a negative mark on our credit which we have worked hard to get it to a moderate - when the credit cards were active they charged us 28 % interest rate we feel they have gotten there money over and over know they see we can pay and they do not want to work with us to settle for a lesser amount they had told us when we signed up they want to work with us but i see refusing to give us an appropriate pay off figure with the threat of harming our credit after it took us several years to get where we are to today is unethical
