I am a - year old victim of check Fraud. I hired a handyman named - -. He stole numerous checks and forged my signature. The signature on the checks that he forged was very different from my signature. I never authorized him to sign the checks. TD bank cashed the checks totaling $8600.00 without confirming the signature and assessed me another $1500.00 in returned check fees. I could not address this because I was in the hospital and - following -. When I was physically able to challenge the forged checks TD bank only refunded $2600.00, stating I took to long to challenge the other $6000.00 and they refused to credit me the returned check fees that were caused by TD Banks acceptance of the forged checks. I want TD Bank to refund all of the forged checks, ( $6000.00 ) and to credit my account for the returned check fees caused by their failure to reject checks that did not match my signature.
