I submitted through JPMorgan Chase a request to pay - - $20.00 on - -. This request was made through my checking account using online billpay. I have previously made 4 payments to - over the last year and half as he is my newspaper carrier. The address it is sent to is in the city I reside. There has never been a problem until now. On - - I received a notice from Chase saying they had the payment under review for - and would not process until I provided his name, address ( both which they had ) Date of birth, place of birth and nationality. I explained I had no info and he was my newspaper carrier and wanted to know why after paying him for 1.5 years $20.00 every 4 months this was necessary as I was authorizing this payment and it was being sent - miles from my house as he provided me a service ( delivering me a newspaper ) again no answer was forthcoming and no payment has been sent. I have called Chase 4 timesand received NO satisfaction. I understand the need to guard against money laundering but this is overboard - a repeating minimal payment I 'm authorizing and have authorized in the past which were processed without a problem sent locally feels like Chase is either incompetent or engaging - profiling. I am filing this complaint because I received no answers from Chase after multiple calls and a visit to the branch - the local -, Ca branch attempted to be helpful but were stymied by corporate. Since I have received no satisfaction from Chase regarding this I am filing this complaint.
