TD Bank US Holding Company Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease Massachusetts
My wife and I bought furniture at -/Ashley Furniture - on - -, 2014. We agreed to a 20 month promotion with which we misunderstood the " no interest '' aspect for an initial total of $10000.00. We made a payment every month of at least the minimum required, including a $5000.00 payment last week. It was the interest charged line item on our last bill of $3700.00 that is the reason for this complaint. Yes, shame on us for not scrutinizing the fine print on the initial paperwork and the monthly bills, but, in our defense, we have never had a transaction like this. I can not believe that it is legal for -/Ashley Furniture/- to charge 28.99 % interest in accordance with their convoluted Finance Disclosure Form concerning Deferred Interest with Payments. We are in our - worked as professionals all of our adult lives ( I am still working full time - ) and feel that we have been taken advantage of because we are busy. This type of promotion is deceptive and fits the definition of usury.
