We rented a car. A third party service that has an automatic toll payer ( like - ) billed us for using their service, which we did not use. AmEx and - acted as if the charge was legitimate. It took three times corresponding with them before they dropped the charge. They acted like the burden was on us to prove we did not incur the charge and they sent " evidence '' that proved nothing. It was harrassing, and most consumers would simple have capitulated. I happen to be a lawyer, so I pushed the issue. We feel that these companies ( - - -, -, and AmEx ) are using their corporate leverage to rip people off, and we 'd like to know how often this happens with these companies in particular.
