-/-/- my - year old father got - into renewing his lease on a Nissan Altima that was about to expire and the local Nisan dealership contacted him with a year end leasing deal on a - Nissan Altima without taking into account that he was only driving - miles a year. As soon as he drove the new ( the - 's were already being sold ) off the lot he lost about $2500.00 which was not accounted for in his lease. I took over his finances in - as he was diagnosed with - and tried to renegotiate or get out of the Lease which was for 39 months at $410.00 per month and allowed - miles. Nissan Motor Acceptance would not negotiate and said even if he could not drive due to his - he was liable for the full amount of the lease. So we sucked it up and paid it for 39 months and turned it in with - miles or - % of his available mileage. The car had a small - inch tear in the front bumper cover which Nissan claimed as chargeable wear and tear and they also wanted $390.00 for a disposition fee and would not budge on both despite repeated calls and E-Mail complaints to Nissan Motor Acceptance about the charge totaling $950.00. After sending only - statement with a due date of - - - they sent this to a collection Agency on - - - instead of negotiating with me a reasonable settlement based on the low miles on the vehicle. I would be willing to settle this for $250.00 as my Dad is now - and in an - and does not have much money left.
