Closing/Cancelling account Florida
Over a year ago, I had misplaced a credit card ( issued by Continental Finance ). I knew it was in my house somewhere and had not been stolen, but I could not find it. I called Continental Finance to replace the card, explaining there was no fraud, I just needed a new card. They said they would send one in the mail. It never came. I made no less that 5 calls to Continental Finance with the same request. Each time, I was told my card would be sent to me. I never received the card. Each time I called, I was told that there was some kind of security alert on my card, that was causing them to not send my card. I eventually gave up and paid off my card in order to close it. Once I paid the card off, I called to close the account. They apologzed for the previous problems, and told me they closed the account. This happened in the beginning of -. - - I was billed for the $18.00 account maintenence fee. I called to complain. They never could give me a straight answer, as to why my account was not closed. They have said they have closed my account again and refunded my charge, but I can not take them at their word, because each time I have called, they have claimed to resolve my issues, and have failed to do so each time.
