Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Idaho
I went to the Experian website to look at my " free '' credit score as advertised on television and all over the webpage. Turns out they charge you $1.00. I did not know that by paying the $1.00 fee they enroll you in a monthly membership that charges $21.00 a month. I was charged twice before receiving my credit card bill and noticing the fraudulent charge. To cancel, the company forces you to call them. I called to cancel and request a refund. They cancelled my " membership '' that I never wanted and never signed up for and refunded one charge but refused to refund the other one because " it 's their process. '' All - of the call center representatives with whom I spoke refused to transfer me to someone who would solve the problem. They kept insisting on giving me an email address. Why should I have to email when " their process '' according to the website forced me to call them in the first place? On top of that, the last agent I spoke with hung up on me despite my request that he not hang up on me. I was civil but firm the entire call. There was no acceptable excuse for hanging up on me. This company is a fraud and participates in false advertising practices. I posted a complaint on their - page and noticed that every post from non-employees was a complaint about this same issue. They are not up-front with their practices and trick users into paying for a service that is n't wanted.
