JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
I submitted an online credit application today 's date -/-/2016 to Chase Slate Bank for a new credit card. The primary reason I did so was because they were offering an option to transfer a balance from another lender with a higher interest card with zero percent interest for 15 months. As a part of the application I had to give them the other lenders account number and amount I wished to transfer ( in my case over $4000.00. ) even though I entered this amount in their application, when I submitted ( and got approval ) for the card, they gave me a $1000.00 limit and made no mention of the transfer request. When I called them at their customer service number they said that the transfer limit maximum was $1000.00 at most. I told them I never would have applied if the online application had indicated that. The CSR apologized and asked if I had any other questions. I told him I felt the online application was used as a tool to lure new card members and that I never would have applied if they had indicated the maximum transfer amount. Website I applied at was - The representative I spoke to indicated on the phone that the balance transfer information I entered was NOT used as part of the application submission which I feel was a misrepresentation on their part.
