I have paid my line of credit with TCF in -/-/-. I called and asked for my account to be closed. I was told that I need to sent a fax, which I did. However, I had a servicing fee of $50.00 assessed on -/-/- for a balance of - during -/-/-. I called again and I was once again asked to send a fax. I did send a fax together with the following email ( to -- - -- - ) : **** email copy***** Dear TCF representative, I, - - - , would dlike to close my account -. I have paid my loan and do not need the credit line anymore. I would like to ask ( per my conversation with - customer service representatives ) that the assessment fee of $50.00 be retroactively removed. Thank you very much and kind regards, - - PS The above was the text in the fax I sent on -/-/-. I am not sure why things did not go through ( I do have the fax being successfully sent receipt ) **** end of email ***** Now I have a new charge in -/-/-, once again of $50.00 ( which they draw against my debit card with the threat that if I do not pay, I 'd have my credit score affected ). My balance continues to be - as I have long repaid my mortgage.
