Vehicle loan Managing the loan or lease California
Late charges imposed unfairly by lender : Late charges of $29.00 were imposed by US Bank on my car loan in -/-/- and -/-/-. I mailed the payments to the bank at no different times those two months than in the preceding five months since the loan was initiated, yet in the previous five months the payments were recorded as received no later than the - of each month, but in -/-/- and -/-/-, they were recorded as being received on -/-/- and -/-/-. When I called the bank 's customer service number, the representative I spoke to said there is " processing time '' involved between when the bank receives payments in the mail and when they get posted to customers ' accounts - usually a few days. I protested that it was unfair to impose late charges on customers if the bank does n't record them as received on the date they actually are. The representative said she was n't authorized to reverse the late charges but would forward my complaint to a supervisor who would be, and that the supervisor would get back to me. However, no one did get back to me and no action was taken to credit my account for the late charges.
