U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
I have a credit card through Citizens Bank with a payment due date of th the - of each month. Since - 2015, I submitted my payment at the a branch location on or before the due date. However, the bank assessed a late fee for the following months : -, -, -, and -, on the actual due date. A day or two later, the late fee was taken off my account, but - wonders if the bank is collecting any type of interest for the day or - that it assessed the fee. Furthermore, the payment is clearly due " on or before -. on the -, '' which begs the question as to why the bank is assessing a late fee on the due date? I feel that the bank is assessing late fees on accounts that are not actually late and is benefitting by having the day or - to accrue interest or other monetary gains on accounts that are are not truly late or in arrears.
