Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
I have an in-store card with Walmart and the payments are due on the - day of every month. On -/-/2015 I made my third payment on the account inside of - with cash in the morning. Later that day I checked my account and contacted a Walmart Representative in their card services department. I was told that my cash payment was on time and that no late fee would be added to my account. On -/-/2015 I checked my account and found that a $25.00 late fee was applied to my account and an $18.00 credit posted to the account had disappeared. That same day I contacted the Walmart card services department and spoke with - male representatives who refused to remove the $25.00 late fee and transfer me to a manager. - Walmart reps argued that the $25.00 late was justified even though I made the payment in time. I was very upset and stated that I thought this was a very dishonest business practice and threatened to cancel the card. In addition, I have proof that my payment was made on time. Since Walmart is refusing to remove the late fee and I am concerned that they will falsely report this information to the credit bureaus I have decided to write this agency to get the matter addressed.
