This is a follow-up to Case Number -. US Bank acknowledge in their response that they misplaced a check and once a new check is issued and paid they will resolve the outstanding loan and ensure the " credit bureau is corrected effective the total loss date. '' On - -, the insurance company sent a mailed a check replacing the check US Bank lost. I immediately went to the bank to sign the check over and to being the stets to resolve this issue. To date, I have not received a release of the lien. Instead, I received a " Notice of Intent '' demanding $5600.00 considerably more than the $3200.00 balance noted in the - - letter mailed to be in regards to my previous complaint. Furthermore, US Bank has failed to pay back the $180.00 overpayment ; stating it was recouped to pay for fees. I advised US Bank that I was unaware of being charged any fees. I inquired as to what the fees were pertaining to and again advised that if they were related to charged that would not have been incurred if the original check had not been misplaced. The bank representative ( - ) could not advised. I did inform US Bank that without being informed of any charges and their ability not to justify retaining the $180.00, is nothing more than theft.
