U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
When having my credit pulled, to purchase a house, a late payment was identified on my report. The late payment was a result of US Bank charging an annual fee for a credit card and not sending an invoice. I had a - dollar balance so I never thought to look. US Bank agreed to dismiss the charges but required a written notification to reverse the negative marks on my credit report. I submitted the request and was told I would receive a response within 30 days. That time has come and gone and I have received nothing. I tried to contact US Bank 's credit department but was told they do not have phones or take calls. No one can tell me if/why/when the negative marks will be removed from my report. In the mean time this single instance of a $49.00 late fee ( that was removed ) lowered my credit by - points and will cost me $1000.00 's in interest over the life of a new mortgage. I would like to be able to contact US Bank and discuss this issue directly and resolve my credit in a timely manner. Is there anyway to force them to speak with me or any other actions I can take? Do I need to sue US Bank to resolve the issue and can I sue them for the future interest that I will pay? I very much doubt I will sue them for $49.00 but maybe - would get their attention.
