Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Don't agree with fees charged New York

My loan servicer is Navient. Not only are the not helpful but they refuse to lower my interest rates which have risen to nearly 10 %! They are a scam. No where in my contract did I ever sign up for interest rates that high - and that is not all. The amount of money that I originally borrowed ( I have private loans ) is significantly lower than the current amount I owe - mostly from interest accruing while I was in school. This is not fair and I know many others whom have written complaints about Navient and their unfair practices. They also refuse to help me lower monthly payments. My payments are running nearly $ -/month - which is impossible to afford with my current salary. Something needs to be done for students in New York with private student loan issues because we do not have the repayment options that federal loans have. - -
