Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Missouri

I have a checking account through Commerce Bank. In -/-/-, we had to make 2 house payments to prepare for a refinance. I knew there was a chance of an overdraft, but was hoping I would have deposits in time to cover it. I 'm self employed and usually can make deposits every MOnday and Friday. My husband has his paychecks come as direct deposits 2 Fridays a month. So, deposits are continually coming in. Unfortunately we overdrafted. However, I was stunned to find out making a deposit in the drive through - -, 2015 that they were going to start putting a 7 day business day hold on my deposits. This would effect EVERY check we had out as overdraft fees piled up. As of that day fees would total $460.00, butthey then returned checks on - - and incurred an extra $36.00 then - - for $36.00 and - - for $36.00 and I 'm assuming today they will return the - debit purchases which will cost me $36.00 plus - deducts an additional $25.00. This is effecting my families ability to purchase things for -. It 's put our family under a HUGE financial strain. The local


direct deposits and the hassles of changing other bills. I currently ca n't pay my water, gas or electric bill nor buy food for -. I 'm completely devastated because the money is THERE, but they wo n't allow us to use it. And I 'm frustrated because those checks have already cleared the accounts form the people who wrote them to us. So, Commerce has the money but wo n't let us use it and is acquiring MULTIPLE overdraft fees in the meantime. Plus, I now have to pay fees with companies like our - - car loan check that they returned - -. Money was there to cover it and they charged me overdraft fees TWICE on it and I 'll have a fee with - - as well as a late payment now documented on my account.
