Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Need information about my balance/terms Illinois
I obtained loans through - being service through American Education Services, which I entered repayment in 2008. My original repayment agreement stated a repayment term of 10 years. Recently, I requested a foreberance for 1 month where I noticed that the term had been expanded to 155 months. Further, they have used the forbearance as an opportunity to reset my repayment term. I did not request this and it provides them with an extroordinary interest payment windfall. This needs to be looked into as none of it has been authorized nor has notice been provided in any loan documents during the disbursement process.
