I knew that I was eligible to consolidate my student loans, half of which would come due 6 months later ( -/-/- ), the other half immediately. I began calling Navient the day after I graduated to set a forebearance on the necessary loans so they would all be due in -/-/-, allowing me to consolidate them all at once. Once they were notified of my graduation, they were happy to do this for me. Three months later ( -/-/- ) I start getting notifications of payments due that month. I called again and spoke to a supervisor, and they said the agreement we made was only for my government loans, not the private ones. Even though they assured me in -/-/- that ALL of my loans were included, they would not defer my loans as promised.


me. After hitting my credit with a 60 day past-due notice, I called again to try to negotiate a reasonable payment. I was told that I could either pay the past due amount ( $ 1,000+ ) and request a lower payment, or allow them to take payments out of my bank account monthly. I explained that I do not get paid on the same day/date every month, as it 's a 2 week pay period. I was offering to make payments if they could make them reasonable, but they refused to help. Not only was the agent refusing to look at my account to see the previous conversations I 'd had with other agents, but he lied and told me no supervisors were in the building --. Roughly 20 min later, a supervisor called me back. She refused to apologize that the agent lied to me, or even acknowledge it. She then informed me that she will be referring my account for litigation and disconnected the call. I WANT to make payments, but they continually lie to me and refuse to accept any type of agreement that would n't overly benefit them. I do n't understand how this is legal.
