Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Ohio
My - was denied for a purchase at Sam 's Club # - - -, -, OH - on -/-/15. I went to the Customer Service desk and they called Synchrony Bank, the issuer of the card and handed me the phone. After verifying my identity I was told that an attempt to use my card was rejected and was asked if it was me that tried to place the charge. I do n't remember the exact amount of the charge in question but it was between $100.00 and $200.00. I said no, that I did not authorize that charge and was then told my card was cancelled and that a new card would be sent to me. Upon reviewing my statement when I got home I noticed another unauthorized charge in the amount of $1000.00 on -/-/15 to -. I do n't have an account with - and have never transacted any business with them. I called Synchrony Bank on -/-/15 about the fraudulent charge and filed a dispute. I did not receive a Fraud Investigation form but I did receive a letter on -/-/15 stating " After reviewing recent activity, we did not identify any unauthorized purchases applied to the account. '' and also " At this time we have concluded the fraud investigation and consider the matter closed. ''
