Amex Credit card department,
Related to managing my American Express credit card ( https : //www.americanexpress.com ). Their website is VERY misleading. First, upon signing on to the website, the account activity screen shows only the current month 's ( period ) purchases and current amount due. Any amount due from previous months is not shown. Second, interest charges and late fees are NOT shown in the account activity detail. Any interest or late fees is included in the amount due. In other words, the current amount due is MORE than the total of current purchases. Third, payment activity shows only electronic payments made. I recently sent a paper check, they cashed it, and it does n't show in my account activity. And because only the current period balance due is shown online, I can not tell if the paper check payment was truly credited to my account.
