Over the last several years, I have been getting repeated phone calls from Ally Financial regarding debt owed by a person with the same last name as me, and whose wife has the same first name as mine. On each call, I have explained that I am not the debt holder and asked Ally Financial to stop calling me. I have been unsuccessful in getting them to stop. The most recent occurance took place -/-/- 2015, when they called and hung up. I called them back to learn it was the collection service. I asked to speak to a manager at that time and explained the situation. She assured me it would stop. I recieved another call less then 24 hours later on - -, 2015. Again, the caller hung up when I answered. I called back and spoke to the same manager again, who again assured me it would not happen again. When I inquired as to how they even got my number, she explained that they have a " tool '' that they use to find possible relatives to debt holders. I explained to her that I have repeatedly told them that I do not know the debt holder in any way and should not be linked to them. As I result of their actions, we have had to take out identity theft insurance for the last several years, and have had some complications with my wife 's credit report.
