Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Oklahoma
Back in -, 2015, I ordered a pkg of - - T-shirts. Amazon.com had a promotion going that if you applied for their store card, you would be given a $30.00 discount. I may have applied for that card just to get the $30.00 discount. The total for the t-shirts was $29.00, so when the items arrived, the invoice said balance due $.00 ( - ). Today, -/-/2015 I received the one and only statement from Synchrony Bank ( which handles the Amazon store cards ). The statement showed I had a previous balance on the " credit '' account of $29.00, and was billing me $26.00 for a $25.00 late fee and $1.00 minimum interest fee, bringing my total to $55.00 At first I did n't recall purchasing anything from Amazon, and then the csr on phone told me it was for pkg of - - t-shirts. I told her I recalled ordering them, and she offered to remove the late fee and interest charge and just bill me $29.00, but she wanted more info in order to close the account. I was n't comfortable giving her more information, considering that if I had truly opened an account with
trying their Amazon Store card ( Which I would never normally do, since their interest rate is ridiculous, and I do n't really like Amazon ). I have found in previous dealings with them, that their business ethics leave a lot to be desired. Thinking about it, I believe this is yet another example of their less than honest business ethics, and a bait and switch tactic in order to get people to sign up for their HIGH INTEREST credit card. Had I been sent a statement in a timely manner, There would have been no late fee billed and I would have disputed the $29.00 which should have been offset by the $30.00 discount come-on. Worse comes to worse, I am willing to pay the $29.00, and chalk up the switch and bait $30.00 offer, to just another one of Amazon 's dishonest business practices. Thanks for whatever help you can be. - - --
