Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Georgia
I signed up for an Amazon Prime store card ( for amazon.com ). This card is issued by Synchrony Bank. When signing up, I was told as part of the marketing that I can manage my account and pay online. When I went to sign up, I ran into multiple issues. First, I was unable to sign up because the online software would not display my phone number as they require multi-factor authentication. After that was resolved over the phone ( They said the issue was that they had my home number and my cell number as the same number ), I tried to continue. I reached the part of the sign-up process where I am to create the account name and password. Despite following the password rules, ( Uppercase, lower case characters and at least - numbers, special characters allowed ), several potential passwords were rejected. Upon raising this issue with the company, they informed me that they only supported - antiquated versions of - - - and - - or -. I do n't have a way to easily downgrade -, and I tried installing - and I experienced even worse issues. I find it dishonest and misleading that the bank would advertise online account management and make me jump though hoops to use it. There is no technical reason why this should n't work fine - the browsers and standards that they refuse to support properly are not new and they have had plenty of time to write software that is compatible with them.
