Amex Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Minnesota
I applied for and received a business credit card from American Express for a professional limited liability partnership. I specified in the application and was advised that this credit card was not a personal card, but for the business only, for business use only. I disassociated from the business and the business continued with the other - owners. - of the other - owners who continued to operate the business cut up the card in front of me and advised that it would not longer be used. Over a year later, American Express sought payment for overdue balances from me personally. I requested a verification of the debt amount owed, a copy of the credit application, and made multiple attempts to dispute any personal obligation of the alleged debt and suggested that the such transactions were unauthorized and any credit granted to me was non-transferrable, but all the representatives of American Express would do is demand payment in full without verification. Now, my credit score has been effected and this will cost me tens of thousands of dollars.
