Credit monitoring or identity protection Problem with fraud alerts
I placed a security freeze on all - of the credit reporting agencies several years ago. I am going to be applying for a loan and so am trying to lift the freeze. Neither Equifax or - is recognizing my PIN : I am unable to lift the freeze. There is no recourse to me other than to send my request in writing but I have NO identification that shows my social security number on it ( for obvious reasons ). There is no way to speak with an individual. This must be what it 's like when your identity is stolen and you lose control.
